Elma Lusitano
Elma Lusitano, mother of Carlos Eduardo, was brought up in a workers housing project in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. Her first marriage ended when her son was still young. Since then she has been struggling to sustain her family, either working as a shop assistant or as a domestic cleaner.
